This blog has moved to: iForgot.JimWarholic.com
Below is the automatic posting from Blogger when using the FTP Blogger conversion tool. I left it exactly as it was posted except for adding the various comments sections and added to the posting title, and is located in the gray block quote area a few paragraphs down below. You can view the short original blog over here for 30 seconds before being transported back. There are a few points of interest to take note of here:
This original blog (a small 9 postings blog and was one of several blogs hosted at this domain name) was located at www.jimwarholic.com/iforgot directory. I created a CNAME record using [ ghs.google.com. ] (reminder: don't forget the period after ghs.google.com. CNAME record) for the subdomain name iforgot.jimwarholic.com.
Since I have direct access to my web host manager, WHM, I created the CNAME record there. Some might have to contact their hosting provider if the domain name servers (DNS 1 and DNS 2) are pointed to a hosting provider where your website is currently hosted, and have them create the CNAME record for you.
A little glitch on the automatic Blogger posting here. The feed subscriptions should be the following for the main type of feeds instead of what the Blogger script produced in the automatic posting:
For Atom Feed: http://iforgot.jimwarholic.com/feeds/posts/default
For RSS Feed: http://iforgot.jimwarholic.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
This blog is now located at http://iforgot.jimwarholic.com/.
You will be automatically redirected in 30 seconds, or you may click here.
For feed subscribers, please update your feed subscriptions to

Other items of interest include:
I did have to remove some of the special PHP includes code, and add the top most menu back into the blog using the full menu code instead of doing a PHP includes.
I also had to fine tune the template for top spacing with CSS code. I believe this had to do with how Blogger was displaying the Blogger navigation bar at the top and added some extra spacing. Oddly, I did not have the option to turn off the Blogger Nav Bar from the administrative section as I had before. I suspect this is an oversight on Blogger's part. I was able to hide the Nav bar with CSS code.
Also keep in mind, that I have decided to not intentionally switch the template at this time to the new XML dynamic templates. I might try that with my next FTP Blogger switch and give a report of how that goes with the PHP file names. I am a bit curious about the retention of the PHP file names or not.
Additional thoughts that I forgot to mention are as follows:
When the FTP Blogger Conversion Tool was going to publish using FTP to my server, it errored out and instead gave me the link to download an updated ZIP file with canonical and meta refresh tag (specific for each and every page including the labels, archives, and item pages) to be uploaded directly to my server using direct FTP access from my end. I suspect this is because Blogger FTP publishing has been having great difficulty on my server for the various reasons stated in the past. I first downloaded and saved all my files from the server to my local computer. Then, once I uploaded all those updated pages to the appropriate directories on my server, the pages are automatically redirected after 30 seconds to the new website. Note that the ZIP file had the archives out of the archive directory that I had originally set up in the FTP configuration page at Blogger (another glitch to watch for). I placed those new files back into the archive folder at my website and everything seemed to function properly.
Here are how the header tags have been added to the blog pages at the old website:
<head><link rel="canonical" href="http://iforgot.jimwarholic.com/2009/01/cname-records-how-to-create-for-blogger.php" />
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30,http://iforgot.jimwarholic.com/2009/01/cname-records-how-to-create-for-blogger.php" />
The code above was installed automatically for the posting:
